Writing on Truth Social, Trump claimed that discussions—involving the US, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and others—had been approved at Iran’s highest level. However, Iran’s Foreign Ministry denied a final deal, stating that Washington keeps shifting positions and that Tehran will not compromise on red lines.

Trump had previously threatened to “take” Iran’s Kharg Island, a major oil hub, comparing a potential ground operation to US actions in Venezuela. While a naval blockade remains, experts warn that any assault on the island would risk heavy US casualties. Earlier strikes formed part of a broader US-Israeli bombing campaign from February to April.
