Mass Evacuation Warnings Across Lebanon
Israel has escalated tensions with Hezbollah by issuing sweeping evacuation warnings across Lebanon, including Beirut’s southern suburbs. Military spokesman Avichay Adraee urged residents in 50 locations, primarily in southern Lebanon, to immediately evacuate for their safety. Specific alerts targeted buildings in Ghobeiry, Haret Hreik, and Hadath neighborhoods, allegedly near Hezbollah facilities, instructing people to move at least 300 meters away.
The warnings follow Israel’s vow to intensify strikes after Hezbollah launched rocket and drone attacks, which the group claims retaliated for Iran’s Supreme Leader being killed in U.S.-Israeli strikes. Lebanese authorities report that Monday’s bombardments killed at least 52 people and wounded 154 across Beirut’s southern suburbs and southern villages. Meanwhile, Lebanon’s government has banned Hezbollah’s military and security activities amid the escalating cross-border conflict.
