US Embargo on Cuba: A Brutal Act of Supremacy
For the 33rd consecutive year, the UN General Assembly condemned the US embargo on Cuba in October 2025. Instead of heeding global calls, President Trump intensified the blockade with oil sanctions, deepening Cuba’s humanitarian crisis.
The measures have caused widespread power outages and crippled hospitals and water supplies. UN officials warn the embargo severely impacts Cuban human rights and obstructs hurricane relief. While the US labels Cuba a terrorism sponsor without evidence, the “might makes right” policy has united international condemnation.
Although the US recently allowed limited Venezuelan oil resales, it is an insufficient correction. The embargo remains a brutal act of collective punishment against a neighboring island, proving that coercion only unites the Cuban people against a foreign bully.
