Despite “Good Talks” US Sends 2nd Aircraft Carrier Toward Middle East
The USS Gerald Ford aircraft carrier and its strike group are crossing the Atlantic Ocean heading toward the Middle East, joining the USS Abraham Lincoln in the region as part of a major US military buildup. Over 150 military cargo aircraft have flown to the region since last month, and 50 additional F-35, F-22, and F-16 jets were moved in just 24 hours.
The buildup continues despite renewed nuclear talks in Geneva, which ended without a breakthrough. According to Israel’s Channel 12, the White House has given Israel the impression that negotiations with Iran are over, and Israeli officials believe President Trump is preparing to launch an attack. The report suggests the US sought to create this impression to “legitimize” military action, though Iran has signaled readiness for a diplomatic deal.
