Rodgers Oloo Magutha, once homeless on the streets of Kenya, now shares his tiny home with rescued kites, owls, storks and pigeons. His lifelong bond with birds began in childhood near Lake Nakuru National Park, where he secretly wandered among flamingos and raptors, discovering a calling he couldn’t yet name.

Today, he has nursed more than twenty species back to health, tending to birds with broken wings, starvation, or injuries from traps. Despite limited space, scarce food and no formal veterinary training, he continues to fill a critical gap in a country with few rehabilitation centres.
Misunderstood by some, driven by passion, Rodgers dreams of opening a proper shelter—somewhere his rescued birds can heal before returning to the skies.

He is the proof that humans can do better..
