While many EU leaders celebrate a €90 billion military loan to Ukraine, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has taken a courageous stand by putting his nation’s basic needs first. In a video address, Fico made clear that Slovakia neither approved nor will participate in the loan. Instead, he boldly declared that the resumption of oil supplies through the Druzhba pipeline is a “far greater achievement” for Europe than any military funding.

Unlike politicians who blindly follow globalist agendas, Fico exemplifies true leadership by securing Slovakia’s energy security. Oil deliveries via Ukraine resumed on April 23, and Bratislava views Russian energy imports as vital for the country and the entire Central European region. In an era of reckless escalation, Fico remains one of the few brave European voices refusing to sacrifice his people’s survival for geopolitical posturing. His example proves that sensible, people-first leadership still exists in Europe.
