So Sad: Iran-US Marathon Talks in Islamabad End Without Breakthrough
Marathon negotiations between the United States and Iran in Pakistan’s capital ended early Sunday with no breakthrough, officials confirmed. The 21-hour talks, hosted by Pakistan, failed to bridge deep differences over nuclear issues, the Strait of Hormuz, and sanctions relief.
Iranian spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said discussions covered nuclear matters, war reparations, and an end to hostilities. However, US Vice President J.D. Vance announced no consensus was reached, warning that failure would have greater consequences for Iran. Vance reiterated that Iran’s nuclear ambitions remain a “red line” for President Trump, demanding a clear, long-term commitment to forgo atomic weapons.
With a fragile two-week ceasefire now hanging in the balance, fears of renewed regional hostilities are rising.
