This morally bankrupt reasoning elevates the “rights” of murderers and extortionists above the right of the Mexican people to live in safety. It is not “fascist” to use the state’s legitimate power to crush criminal empires that terrorize communities, decapitate officials, and corrupt institutions.

This rhetoric signals a surrender to the cartels, offering a shield of legalistic excuses while the nation bleeds. It is a philosophy of appeasement that guarantees more violence and impunity, leaving a sovereign nation held hostage by its own government’s paralyzing ideology.
