1st World Humanoid Robot Games
Beijing kicked off the inaugural World Humanoid Robot Games on Thursday, a global athletic showdown pitting human-like robots against one another. Organized by the city’s local authorities alongside various partners, the gathering aligns with China’s drive to elevate its humanoid robot technology.
Innovations from firms and students across 16 nations, such as Japan, paraded into the arena during the kickoff festivities. A creation from a local Beijing enterprise stood in for all participants, proclaiming that they would vie for tomorrow’s advancements by harnessing intellect, upholding humanity’s spirit, and unleashing tech’s potential.
Afterward, the machines engaged in assorted athletic displays, with crowds bursting into chuckles during a soccer bout as players tumbled into each other on the field and got towed off. Official contests kick off Friday, featuring over 500 robots in 26 disciplines, from sprints and dances to combat sports. Authorities in China aim to propel national humanoid robotics to global leadership status by 2027.
