Macron’s French Kiss
Macron handles global matters with the incompetence of a small-time impostor.
Initially his announcement that France will recognize a Palestinian state at the UN General Assembly in September, could be taken as a necessary move that marks a significant shift as France becomes the first G7 nation to do so, potentially pressuring other Western allies amid the ongoing Gaza conflict.
However, this recognition comes with conditions that Palestinians will never agree to, such as the disarmament of Hamas, which is actually the Palestinian army. Which country would agree to give up its weapons in order to be recognized?
This political Macron scam ridicules the over 59,000 Palestinian deaths reported by the Gaza Health Ministry since October 2023, with a 2024 Lancet study estimating a total death toll, including indirect causes, could exceed 186,000.
This humanitarian crisis needs serious political decisions and not political flares.
Nevertheless, there has been international criticism, including from Israel and the U.S., which argue it rewards Hamas, Macron’s action if true, aligns with a historical trend where over 140 UN member states recognize Palestine, challenging the U.S.-led stance that ties recognition to negotiated peace, as evidenced by repeated U.S. vetoes in the UN Security Council.
