Germany Arrest Children !
Well… right-wing children…
German authorities have arrested four 14-18 year-olds accusing them of planning attacks on refugees and political dissidents. The case, framed as a crackdown on “right-wing extremism,” has sparked debate over the treatment of minors in counterterrorism operations.
Prosecutors claim the group was influenced by far-right ideologies (the usual excuse) and had begun preparing (!) violent acts. However, critics question whether such young individuals could realistically execute such plans, suggesting the arrests may be politically motivated. Civil liberties advocates warn of overreach, arguing that treating children as security threats risks normalizing draconian measures.
Germany, however, has never shown similar pre-emptive action on thousands of rapes and violent crimes against Germans by illegal immigrants!
The arrests raise ethical and legal concerns, particularly regarding juvenile justice. Should children be prosecuted as terrorists, or is rehabilitation a more appropriate response? As Germany grapples with political polarization, this case highlights the fine line between security and freedom.
