George Tsounis’s last impressions of Greece are shocking
The outgoing US ambassador to Greece, George Tsounis, had the idea to host a dinner in a fish tavern for friends and acquaintances. I don’t think he could have imagined what would happen…
On Monday night, January 13, 2025, a violent fight broke out at a party hosted by George Tsounis, the former US Ambassador to Athens, for his friends in Greece at the famous fish tavern Nisiotissa in the north of Athens.
The fight started between two editors and quickly spread to the other tables, causing a huge brawl.
It started when the publisher M.T., also known as Tarzan, looked at H.R. and G.K., both publishers of well-known websites. H.R. said to G.K., “What are you looking at, you ba…d?” and “What do you want, a beating?”
Then the three men grabbed each other, and chairs and plates were thrown.
The two publisher friends knocked down the first publisher and kicked him before finally going in and being separated by security guards and police.
Ministers Kostis Hatzidakis and his wife, Christos Staikouras, Niki Kerameos, Kostas Skrekas, and Giannis Stournaras, as well as representatives of businesses and shipowners like Kopelouzos, Melissanidis, Prokopiou, and Tsakos, witnessed the event.
Everyone was stunned by the event, and George Tsounis seemed embarrassed.
The two singers who performed at the event, Kostas Argyros and Antonis Remos, were also shocked.
This is the downfall of journalism along with the political system that allows it, and cooperate with it.
