“The Queen of Spades”
If anything is certain about Ursula von der Leyen, it is that she feels more at home in Belgium than in Germany. Born in Brussels in 1958, she spent her childhood there, as her father Ernst Albrecht, was one of the first EU officials. His family belonged to the top bourgeoisie of Hamburg, and was a powerful trading house for cotton. They were among the main founders of the cotton plantation owning class in Charleston, USA (and apparently slave owners).
Ursula von der Leyen went to Germany later when her father became involved in political affairs. She first studied in London and graduated from the London School of Economics, that “famous” university that has produced students with the biggest failures in economics… Then she studied at the Hannover Medical School as a gynecologist. After marrying Heiko von der Leyen, of the very wealthy silk merchant family who was given an aristocratic title by Napoleon, she lived again in Brussels. After immigrating to the US for four years (common priviledge of the risch) she surprisingly got a heartburn for German political affairs and after returning, she began a political career. A career that in 2019 brought her to the position of President of the Commission.
Her term, which ended a while ago, was marked by COVID-19 and the war in Ukraine. That is, marked a suspicious and inhuman health crisis, by an unnecessary energy crisis, by the official declaration of Russia as a European enemy, by the economic sinking of the European GDP, by a self aduse, illegal immigration policy, a landmine for the European demographic, and by an electric shock of moral dissolution for the European societies. These are probably the darkest years since the establishment of the EU.
Ursula von der Leyen handled these crises like a dedicated employee of the United States. Her own words never came out of her mouth. What she declared, and what she did, primarily served the interests of the USA, the dictates of the international economic elite and, thirdly, its duties towards European citizens. The dissatisfaction of the citizens has been recorded so strongly, that they have “stuck” her the nickname “von der Liar” i.e. Von Liar…
Admittedly, her tenure went through many difficulties that at first reading, Ursula politically withstood. However, it seems that her score was not very satisfactory in the notebooks of her superiors, since instead of promoting her to the position of Secretary General of NATO that she herself desired, they kept her stagnant in her current position, thus giving her the opportunity to have another term as President of the Commission. The EU does not expect anything good from the second term of a President without political imprint. A puppet President. An ominous Queen of Spades…
Somehow, we live in 2024 but the Europe of “democracy and progress” is not ruled by people with popular support, representing the will of the people, but descendants of an economic elite built on colonialism and the salons of the economic “nobilite'” of past centuries . And curiously enough, descendants of such economic dynasties, acquire political consciousness, mostly after living in the USA...
After all, how far has the political system of Europe progressed? Is it still defined by dynasties of money and special acquaintances, as for so many years in the past?
Are they just making fun of us by changing titles like e.g. “king” with “president” and “by the grace of God” with “parliamentary democracy”?
Does the ease with which we swallow their gross lies make us deserving of our fate?
