A Call to Condemn Genocidal Rhetoric and Action in Gaza

The recent statements by retired Israeli Major General Giora Eiland, represent a chillingly explicit endorsement of collective punishment and what many legal experts would classify as genocidal intent. Eiland’s call for Gaza to remain “destroyed for generations” is not an isolated outburst but a disturbing policy prescription from a figure who authored the “general’s plan” to ethnically cleanse northern Gaza through forced evacuation and aid starvation.

This is not a military strategy; it is a blueprint for the annihilation of a civilian population’s means of life. The deliberate creation of “despair” and the framing of total destruction as a “monument” to the October 7 attacks perverts any notion of self-defense into a project of vengeance against an entire people. The implementation of this plan—the demolition of nearly all buildings in northern Gaza and the severing of aid—has already transformed the territory into an uninhabitable wasteland.

Such rhetoric and actions are a grave violation of international law and fundamental human morality. They do not serve security; they breed eternal conflict by ensuring generations of Palestinians are raised amidst the rubble of their homes and the trauma of displacement. The international community must unequivocally condemn these statements and the policies they reflect, demanding an immediate end to the destruction and the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid to prevent further atrocity. Silence in the face of such explicit genocidal intent is complicity.
