Iran Accuses Kushner and Witkoff of Exploiting U.S. Negotiations for Financial Gain
A senior Iranian official has alleged that Tehran privately warned Vice President JD Vance that Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff were “abusing” their insider access to U.S.-Iran negotiations for personal financial profit. According to Drop Site News, the message was delivered during talks in Switzerland, with Iran claiming the pair were more interested in market manipulation than reaching a durable agreement.
The Iranian official stated that Tehran provided documentation to mediators showing “individuals close to President Trump” were using diplomatic developments to profit in financial markets, estimating gains had reached $9 billion. Iran reportedly requested a share of these proceeds. The Trump administration vehemently denied the claims, with a White House spokesperson dismissing the report as propaganda.
The allegations highlight internal tensions within the U.S. negotiating team, with Iran viewing Kushner and Witkoff as obstacles to progress. The report also underscores concerns about conflicts of interest, given Kushner’s private citizen status and his reported daily communications with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu during negotiations.
