Modi’s Israel Visit Signals Red to Pakistan
During his second visit to Israel, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a red-carpet welcome from Benjamin Netanyahu, signaling a wholehearted expansion of bilateral ties despite the Israeli leader facing an ICC warrant and international condemnation over the Gaza war. Ahead of the visit, Netanyahu proposed a “hexagon of alliances” placing India at the center with Greece, Cyprus, and other states to counter perceived “radical axes.”
This strategic deepening directly impacts Pakistan, which recently formalized a defence pact with Saudi Arabia. Analysts suggest India’s alignment with Israel could reshape Islamabad’s strategic calculus in an already volatile region, underscoring New Delhi’s commitment to its partnership with Tel Aviv.
