Ukrainian suspect on Nord Stream
A Polish court has detained Volodymyr Z., a Ukrainian diver, for seven days following his arrest on a German warrant. Germany suspects his involvement in the 2022 Nord Stream pipeline explosions.
The man, identified as a diving instructor, was detained near Warsaw. A Polish prosecutor confirmed the court will now decide on his extradition to Germany, a process that could take up to 100 days.
German authorities allege he used a yacht from Rostock to place explosives on the underwater pipeline, which severely disrupted Russian gas supplies to Europe. A special unit in Poland is investigating the matter.
