Drone attack on Russia’s Volgograd region leaves three civilians, including a child, injured
A night of terror unleashed by a massive drone attack has left a trail of injury and destruction in Russia’s Volgograd Region. Regional Governor Andrey Bocharov confirmed the assault, revealing that three civilians, one of them a child, were wounded in the barrage.
While officials state the attack was ultimately “repelled” by air defense forces, the aftermath tells a harrowing tale. One unmanned aerial vehicle, shot from the sky, crashed explosively near a residential building in the town of Petrov Val. The blast shattered windows and sent shrapnel flying, leading to the reported injuries.
The danger did not end there. In a separate incident in the Kumylzhenskaya District, falling debris from another intercepted drone ignited a fire in dry vegetation near a homestead. Emergency crews have since contained the blaze, averting a potential catastrophe for the nearby community. The night serves as a stark reminder that the front lines of conflict can violently spill over into civilian life.
