Israeli forces have demolished more than 2,500 buildings in Gaza since the October ceasefire, according to satellite analysis cited by The New York Times.

Much of the destruction lies within the Israeli‑controlled zone known as the “yellow line,” but dozens of structures beyond it have also been leveled. Hamas officials argue the demolitions blatantly violate the agreement’s requirement to halt all military operations, calling the actions hostile and unlawful. Former IDF officers and Gaza‑based analysts describe the campaign as indiscriminate, wiping out homes, schools, factories, farmland, and entire residential blocks with no credible security rationale.

Despite the ceasefire, Israeli attacks have continued across the Strip, killing at least 442 Palestinians and injuring more than 1,200, deepening the sense that the truce exists only on paper.
