Trump Expresses Disappointment as Ukraine Peace Deal Stalls
President Trump has voiced disappointment that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has not yet read a revised US draft peace proposal for ending the conflict with Russia.
While stating that Zelensky’s aides “loved” the plan, Trump questioned the Ukrainian leader’s personal engagement. This follows protracted negotiations where an initial 28-point US plan, met with significant discontent from Kiev and European allies, was whittled down to 22 points after revisions. The process has included high-level meetings between US envoys and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, and just concluded three days of US-Ukraine talks in Florida.
The stalemate highlights ongoing friction, particularly over territorial issues, as the US attempts to broker a deal that remains deeply contentious for Ukraine.
