Since October 7, 2023, the US has delivered over 120,000 tons of military equipment to Israel via 1,000 aircraft and 150 ships, in an airlift of historic scale.

This logistics operation has supplied advanced munitions, armored vehicles, and protective gear, supporting Israel’s military campaigns in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and the wider region.

Concurrently, Israel’s Ministry of Defense announced a multi-billion dollar contract for new Iron Dome systems, funded by US aid.

An April 2024 US aid package allocated $5.2 billion specifically for Israeli air defense. According to the Costs of War Project, the US has spent at least $1.2 billion per month on military aid to Israel in the two years following October 7.

Imagine the change in health care, infrastructure, or schooling all that money could do back home.

And the $1 billion question remains: WHY ?
