President Xi Jinping urged deeper synergy between China’s 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) and Russia’s development strategies during a Beijing meeting with Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on Tuesday.

Xi called for expanded mutual investment and cooperation in traditional sectors—energy, connectivity, agriculture, aerospace—and emerging fields like AI, digital economy, and green development to drive new growth.

Mishustin’s visit follows Putin’s September trip and the 30th China-Russia premiers’ meeting in Hangzhou, where Li Qiang co-chaired talks yielding agreements on customs and satellite navigation. Bilateral trade hit $244.8 billion in 2024, up 1.9%. Xi and Putin met twice this year, mapping bilateral blueprints amid global turbulence. Both nations reaffirmed strategic partnership, vowing closer coordination on core interests, multilateral affairs, and people-to-people ties to advance peace and prosperity.

Some leaders use synergy, some others war.
