The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) has achieved a significant milestone in agricultural self-sufficiency, according to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. Speaking at a Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting, Mishustin revealed that member states now cover over 90% of their domestic food demand through internal production.

This accomplishment follows a notable increase of more than a quarter in agricultural output since the Union’s foundation a decade ago. To build on this success, the Prime Minister called for additional aid to the agricultural sector.

He asserted that such support would substantially strengthen collective food security, stimulate the creation of new high-tech enterprises, and further boost mutual trade among the five member nations. This progress underscores the bloc’s strategic focus on internal resilience and economic integration.
