• Stefan Berendes, candidate for Bad Lippspringe, aged 59, passed away unexpectedly.
• Ralph Lange, the AfD direct candidate for the Blomberg council, aged 66, died on August 28, 2025.

There have been some unusual deaths of AfD politicians in North Rhine-Westphalia leading up to the September 14, 2025, local elections. While official investigations have ruled out foul play, it still seems like a unique record, especially considering that since 2021, there have been at least six more deaths of AfD politicians.

We live in unusual political times, and it seems that anti-establishment political parties experience more unexpected deaths than others.
