Israeli aircraft strike contraband routes
Israeli Air Force aircraft carried out intelligence-based strikes on Syrian “smuggling routes” along the Syrian-Lebanese border on Monday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement on Monday.
The IDF noted that the routes were intended to smuggle weapons to Hezbollah in Lebanon.
“This is another step in the IDF’s ongoing efforts to degrade the capabilities of Hezbollah’s Unit 4400, which is responsible for smuggling weapons used in terror attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF forces,” the announcement said.
Earlier Monday, the IDF said it struck military command centers of Hezbollah’s Executive Council in the southern Beirut suburb of Dahieh.
