The Kremlin announced that the BRICS countries agreed on a common wording on Ukraine
The declaration that the heads of BRICS states plan to adopt following the summit in Kazan will formulate a common approach to the situation around Ukraine. This was stated by the assistant to the President of the Russian Federation for international affairs Yuri Ushakov.
“The wording has already been agreed there. It does not cause any objections,” Yuri Ushakov said in an interview with Channel One.
The Kremlin spokesman clarified that we are talking about a common position of the participating countries “for inclusion in the declaration.”
The BRICS summit is being held in Kazan on October 22-24. This year, Russia chairs the association. Following the summit, the BRICS countries are expected to adopt a final declaration.
It should be noted that the topic of the Ukrainian conflict was also touched upon during Vladimir Putin’s bilateral meetings with world leaders. Thus, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that New Delhi is in favor of “the speedy establishment of peace and stability” and is ready to provide any possible assistance in the settlement.
